This past Sunday we, sbevis and myself, traveled to our son's house to visit with our premie grandson for a few minutes and then travel on to Burden Falls for a sack lunch in the wilderness ... quite a beautiful day  but we were soon taken over...

That sounds lovely and I envy you have such a beautiful place near to where you live. Do you mind me asking, is a sack lunch the same as a picnic?   And what is repelling?  I'm just nosy really!! Lovely pictures though.

well ... the sack lunch would have been more like a picnic if we had thought about it before hand and packed one from home, but it was a last minute plan (some times those are the best) and stopped at a country store and they made us up some great...

You are allowed to call it a 'nose bag' in England - King's English style.

That's a beautiful spot for a picnic SuBe!  Sorry the horseflies dampened the fun.  I'm bug-phobic, so I would have been cowering underwater

That sound like a great time even with the bugs,, I miss the hills and mountains of southeast Oklahoma,, we would take a link of summer sausage, hot cheese and crackers,, bottle of wine (not Leo’s best) stop and watch the trees turn colors.....

It's good to hear things like, 'I miss the hills and mountains of southeast Oklahoma.' I could imagine Springsteen singing that line in a folk session.

You can bet your life if I go on a picnic there will be 3 million gnats, or I end up sitting on an ants nest. The waterfall is beautiful.

it was really a beautiful lunch (picnic, sack, nose sack) and great to be in the hills as we live in town with houses all around us.  I'm kinda like Lou on that account, the wide open sounds real good ... that's why we like having the forest so...
